In Focus 2: An overview of digital threats in Latin America
The second edition of En la mira analyzes more than 100 cases that occurred across the region between June 2024 and May 2025. The report documents the spread of different forms of surveillance and censorship, massive data breaches, disinformation during electoral processes, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, the exploitation of biometric data, and internet shutdowns.
The publication was developed by Derechos Digitales as part of the Latin American Observatory of Digital Threats (OLAD), an alliance made up of 14 organizations from across Latin America working to defend human rights in the digital space.
