Contribution to UN Human Rights Office online survey on civil society civic space
Derechos Digitales responded to the UN Human Rights Office’s online survey on civic space to inform about emerging legislative and institutional trends related to civil society space in Latin America. Our responses to this survey highlight the widespread reduction of civic space across Latin America. We emphasize that this regressive trend threatens civil society in Peru, Paraguay, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Venezuela and Ecuador.
