Who Controls Platform Work? Join the webinar

On Wednesday, August 19, Derechos Digitales will host the webinar “Who Controls Platform Work? Rights, Algorithms, and Collective Organizing in Latin America,” where we will present our new research on the regulation of platform work in the region and discuss the challenges posed by this model of work, as well as the responses emerging through regulation and collective organizing.

The conversation will address issues such as algorithmic management, personal data protection, transparency, and collective rights. While several Latin American countries have begun introducing new regulations for platform work, significant challenges remain in ensuring that workers’ rights are effectively protected.

To explore these challenges from different perspectives across the region, we will bring together representatives from trade unions, workers’ organizations, and human rights organizations. They will discuss recent regulatory developments, the impact of algorithmic systems on working conditions, and the possibilities for collective organizing in the platform economy.
