Join the Session: Designing Community-Centric Data Governance
Derechos Digitales and Tech Global Institute will host the online session Designing Community-Centric Data Governance, as a side event to the WSIS+20 UN GA High-Level-Meeting. The session will be held on December 16, 2025, from 1 to 2:30 PM EST (3 to 4:30 PM Chile time).
The interactive session will challenge the traditional state-versus-corporation data control paradigm by exploring practical, community-centered governance models for the Global South. Participants will divide into working groups to tackle concrete scenarios and debate on data ownership participatory decision-making and equitable benefit-sharing.
Our purpose is to develop critical reflective discussions on the policy pathways and regulatory enablers required to make such people-centric data governance a tangible reality, moving from theory to practice.
